Comprehensive and upper secondary schools
Children under the age of 16 years are offered a place in one of our
comprehensive schools. Young persons between the ages of 16 and 19 years are given the opportunity to undertake Swedish
upper secondary education. The schools offer education of high quality, which takes into account the needs of each pupil.
Children who speak a language other than Swedish at home can get teaching in their own first language. They are then taught their first language as a subject in the comprehensive school and upper secondary school. Pupils can also get study guidance in their first language, in one or several school subjects.
Adults are given the opportunity to read
Swedish for immigrants, SfI. If you have education and professional experience from your homeland, your competence will be evaluated. If you do not have education corresponding to comprehensive school, you may be given the opportunity to have supplementary teaching. Every individual – children, young people and adults – has different prerequisites.
An individual teaching plan will help each individual to find the best ways to achieve the goal. You should be able to understand and speak Swedish in everyday life, at work or in school. You will be given knowledge about social conditions in Sweden, working life and about your rights and obligations. You will meet people from working and professional life.

Kungsbacka medical centre offers newly arrived persons a health interview, health check and, as necessary, contacts with specialist doctors.
