Växjö is an expansive city with several types of accommodation. You can either rent a flat or buy your own accommodation. For children between the age of 1 and 5, there are preschools and pedagogical care. There are both preschools run by the municipality and independent schools that are run by private companies.

Comprehensive and upper secondary schools

There are about 40 primary and lower secondary schools and three upper secondary schools that are run by Växjö municipality. Apart from the municipality's own schools, there are many independent schools. On the municipality's website, you can read more about each school and find their contact information.

Education opportunities

The municipal adult education is for all adults who want to study. We offer courses at basic level and upwards. For immigrants and those who are newly arrived, there is SFI, education in Swedish for immigrants.

On the municipality website, you will find all the courses that you can apply to through the municipality. Växjö is a major education city. If you want to study further, apart from the public university colleges, there is also the Linné Universit.

Health and medical care

Interpreter assistance

For all contact with authorities, you are entitled to an interpreter if you do not speak or understand Swedish. In Växjö municipality, we call interpreters to all the required meetings, for example parental meetings, performance reviews, administration of social services, etc.

Public transport

You can easily reach Växjö by flight, train, bus or car. In Växjö, there are good bus connections frequented by environmentally-friendly buses. The city also encourages cycling and there are many good cycle paths throughout the city.
