In the population centres Mullsjö and Sandhem, every other person lives in a detached house with a garden, and with fantastic views. But it is not only the population centres that are attractive, a large part of the population lives in our living countryside. The municipal housing company, Mullsjö Bostäder, has flats for rent in both Mullsjö and Sandhem. There are also a number of smaller landlords who let out flats within the municipality.

Associations and organisations

Our municipality has around 100 different associations and organisations. They are educational associations, sports clubs and the organisations of various churches, for example.

What is available in the immediate area

Mullsjö has a small centre with two food shops, a few smaller retailers, library, employment service, pharmacy and social services office. There are second-hand shops. For a greater range, many of the inhabitants in the municipality choose to go to Jönköping, our major city.

Childcare

Mullsjö municipality seeks to offer childcare and schooling that is characterised by security, creativity, learning and development, in order to create a good foundation for life-long learning.

Mullsjö municipality does not have its own open nursery school, but the Church of Sweden and the Pentecostal Church have open nursery schools in the municipality.

Compulsory schools and upper secondary schools

The municipality has four comprehensive schools for pupils aged 6–15 years. They are divided up into two school areas.

For pupils over the age of 16, there are upper secondary schools in Jönköping or other towns near to Mullsjö.

Education opportunities

Adult education, for example Swedish for Immigrants, SfI, and social orientation is carried out mainly in Jönköping. The municipality has a folk high school.

Mullsjö has a medical centre. This also offers women's healthcare and child healthcare, and also dental care. The nearest hospital with an accident and emergency department is in Jönköping.

Public transport

There are good communications between Mullsjö municipality and other locations in Sweden, via bus and train traffic. Examples of journey times to Jönköping:

  • From Sandhem: by train 32 minutes.

Trains from Mullsjö centre take 1 hour 40 minutes to Göteborg, 3 hours 10 minutes to Malmö and 3 hours 20 minutes to Stockholm.
