Here you can benefit from the advantages of the countryside and the small town, and at the same time it only takes 20 minutes by commuter train to get to Linköping, or 45 minutes to Norrköping. There are three population centres: Mjölby, Skänninge and Mantorp. Mjölby is the largest. The Östergötland plain around is us a living countryside. The closeness to nature provides good opportunities for outdoor life.

Housing

The largest manager of rented flats in Mjölby is Bostadsbolaget. It owns around 2,500 flats and just over 250 commercial premises. If you want to join the housing queue or find more information about vacant flats, you can do so on Bostadsbolaget's website.

There are also a number of private landlords who rent out flats, and you can find a list with all the landlords on the municipality's website. For newly arrived refugees, the integration reception helps to find a flat.

There are many different language groups in Mjölby, as we have long experience of refugee reception. Some of the language groups represented are: Arabic, Somali, Oromo, French, Dari and others.

What is available in the immediate area

In Mjölby, you are close to most things. There is a library, employment service and social services office. In terms of shops, there are food shops, clothes shops, shoe shops and furniture shops, but there are also second-hand shops where you can buy used furniture, clothes, household goods and so on.

The municipality has a culture school, where the musicians, dancers and actors of the future are trained. Mjölby has a very fine swimming and recreation facility - Lundbybadet. There is also a riding school, two 18-hole golf courses, ice rink, sports halls and much else.

Childcare

There are municipal nursery schools and family day nurseries in the municipality. Children of school age, i.e. 6–12 years, can attend after-school clubs before and after school.Children who for physical, mental or other reasons need special support in their development are be given the care that their special needs require.
