Eslöv is a popular place to live with almost 32,000 inhabitants, located in the Öresund region in the vicinity of the learning city Lund and the major industrial city Malmö. Eslöv became in town in 1911, and then had 5,396 inhabitants. Eslöv, with just over 18,000 inhabitants, is the major population centre in the municipality.

The municipality was founded in 1971, with 12 population centres. Flying, Löberöd, Marieholm and Stehag are each the centre of a municipality division. Compulsory schools and upper secondary schools

Comprehensive schools in Eslöv are divided up into 15 headship areas, including special comprehensive schooling and headship areas for resource schools and first language teaching. The municipality has a culture school, Kulturskolan, and two independent schools, Eslövs Montessorifriskola with pupils from pre-school to year 6, and Karl-Oskarskolan i Eslöv.

You can choose from thirteen national programme with various specialisations, introduction programme, national sports programmes, sports upper secondary school and a large number of elective courses. Eslöv offers good opportunities for adult education, at comprehensive, upper secondary and further education level. We have a well-functioning system for adult education, with Swedish for Immigrants, special education for adults, and municipal eduction for adults. The municipality also offers social orientation delivered in first languages. There is hardly any queue for Swedish for Immigrants.

A folk high school and occupational further education are also established in Eslöv. You can study at further education level at Lund University or Malmö University.

Health and medical care

Public transport

Eslöv municipality is located in the centre of Skåne. It takes around 20 minutes by car to get to Lund, 40 minutes to Malmö and 1 hour to Helsingborg. Train and bus communications are available daily to other parts of Skåne and Copenhagen. It is possible to commute on a daily basis to work in the Öresund region. Skånetrafiken takes care of local trains, buses and disabled transport services, but on a regional basis, SJ and Veolia are also involved.
