Trelleborg
Trelleborg is Sweden’s southernmost municipality and is home to just under 43 000 people. Trelleborg enjoys a strategic location on the south coast, near major cities such as Malmö, Lund and Copenhagen, and has daily ferry connections to three ports in Germany and one in Poland.

Trelleborg's centre has everything from municipal customer services, a library, a local employment agency, a social insurance office, banks, the police, a pharmacy, to an indoor swimming pool and a museum.
Childcare
Trelleborg municipality has 32 preschools, of which one offers early and late classes, and 18 comprehensive schools with integrated special needs and resource schools.
Compulsory schools and upper secondary schools
Trelleborg has a wide choice of comprehensive schools. Municipal comprehensive schools are run by Trelleborg municipality and independent comprehensive schools by private entities.
Trelleborg has one municipal upper secondary school. Classes are held at Söderslättsgymnasiet which is divided into two units, Bastionen and St. Nicolai. Söderslättsgymnasiet offers 14 national programmes, 5 introductory programmes, football and handball programmes, special needs upper secondary education and adult education.
Education opportunities
Municipal adult education is offered at the secondary and upper secondary levels. It is available either as individual courses or as coordinated vocational programmes. Swedish for immigrants is also offered, as well as special needs adult education.
The municipality also has higher vocational education programmes.
Health and medical care
Lasarettet in Trelleborg is a health-promoting local hospital and orthopaedic centre providing emergency as well as planned health and medical care. It has an emergency ward, in-patient wards, specialist consultancies and a surgical ward.
There are two medical care centres in Trelleborg, and a third one in Anderslöv.
National dental health care services are available, as well as a number of private dentists.

Public transport
Skånetrafiken runs buses within the town as well as to e.g. Malmö. In December 2015 an eagerly awaited Pågatåg regional rail link will be opened to Malmö.

Many people who work in the surrounding municipalities, and in Copenhagen, have chosen to settle in Trelleborg because it is close to everything.
Trelleborg's strategic location has had a major influence on the business community, and it is no coincidence that Trelleborg is referred to as the cradle of the freight forwarding business.
