Grums is a municipality bordering Lake Vänern in the heart of Värmland. Around 9,000 persons live here, in or around the population centres Grums, Borgvik, Värmskog, Slottsbron, Segmon and Liljedal.

Childcare

There are nursery schools and after-school clubs in different parts of the municipality. Växtriket in Grums has parents' groups, open nursery school, a baby café and other activities.

Comprehensive and upper secondary schools

There are municipal comprehensive schools in Grums (pre-school–year 3) (years 4–9), Slottsbron (pre-school–year 3) and Skruvstad (pre-school–year 3). There are independent schools in Borgvik (pre-school–year 6) and Värmskog (pre-school–year 6). Upper secondary schools are available in Karlstad municipality.

Education opportunities

In or close to Grums there is Swedish for Immigrants, adult comprensive education and special comprehensive education for adults, occupational further education and Karlstad university available.

Health and medical care

Grums has a medical care centre (Region Värmland) with a maternity care centre (MVC) and a child health care centre (BVC). Grums' new medical care centre, Legevisitten, is also here along with the Public Dental Service (Folktandvården) and a private dentist's surgery.

Public transport

There is both a bus and a train station, from which you can travel by SJ (trains), Värmlandstrafik (county buses), Swebus, and Karlstadsbuss (town buses for Karlstad). In Karlstad there is also Karlstad airport.
