In central Ed you can find the municipal offices, pharmacy, food shops, such as Willys and Coop/Konsum, shoe and clothes shops, café, an electricity shop and banks. In the industrial area Jordbron there is Karlssons, the furniture shop EM-möbler, a second-hand shop, Commershuset and building companies, etc.

Compulsory schools and upper secondary schools
Snörrumsskolan for years 1-3 and Hagaskolan for years 4-9. There is also Kulturskolan i Ed, the purpose of which is to give children and young persons the best in terms of cultural experiences. All children should have the opportunity to learn to play an instrument, sing or dance.
The upper secondary school Utsikten gymnasium offers the Hotel and Tourism programme and the Social Science programme. There is also a special upper secondary school.

At Utvecklingscentrum you will find Swedish for Immigrants teaching run by the municipality. There are also integration packages where you get more information about what Dals-Ed municipality offers within working life, society and also mathematics in simple Swedish.
In collaboration with other Fyrbodal municipalities, we offer social orientation in first languages. You can also study via adult education. Contacts are administered by the occupational guidance service at Utvecklingscentrum.

Health and medical care
Edsgärdet medical centre has doctors, district nurses, child healthcare clinic (BVC) and ante-natal clinic (MVC). In the same building there is also a public dental clinic.

Public transport
Västtrafik operates many bus routes. Trains between Oslo and Göteborg stop daily at the railway station.
