Childcare

There are municipal preschools in Svenljunga, Hillared, Holsljunga, Håcksvik, Mjöbäck, Sexdrega, Mårdaklev, Östra Frölunda and Överlida. In Svenljunga there is also a preschool which is run by a parents' cooperative.

Compulsory schools and upper secondary schools

Svenljunga has ten comprehensive schools with teaching from preschool class until year 9. Most of the municipality's communities have an F-6 school, for preschool class until year 6. All pupils in years 7-9 are taught at Mogaskolan in the central community.

Svenljunga municipality does not run its own upper secondary school, but Naturbruksgymnasiet Svenljunga is an upper secondary school run by Region Västra Götaland. Otherwise pupils can choose between schools in Borås, Mark, Tranemo or in some other municipality – or one of the region's six nature management schools (naturbruksgymnasier). Pupils who lack qualifications for upper secondary school can do introductory programmes in Svenljunga.

Naturbruksgymnasiet Svenljunga is the region's centre for experiences of the woods and of nature, and offers programmes in forestry, horse husbandry, hunting, game preservation and nature guiding. At Region Västra Götaland's other nature management schools you can choose programmes in horse husbandry, harness racing, working with dogs, animal care or farming.

Education opportunities

Sfi, civic information courses and more are offered in Svenljunga. Municipal adult education offers courses to anyone who lives in the municipality and wants to do adult education at the secondary or upper secondary level.
