Asylum application decision

Last updated: 2/3-2023

After the Migration Agency has completed the asylum application they make an assessment. You will then receive a decision granting or refusing your asylum application.

The Migration Agency's decision is based on your account and on the evidence you have provided in support of your account. It is also based on what the Migration Agency knows about the situation in your home country.

The Migration Agency's case officer will tell you about the decision

When the Migration Agency have made a decision they will send you a letter specifying when and where you and your guardian are to meet with the Migration Agency's case officer.

The case officer will tell you whether your asylum application has been granted or refused. The case officer will also describe how the Migration Agency has reached this decision.
